EEM begins auditing railway safety management systems

EEM has been retained to conduct nation-wide audits for a major railway company. The audit program is designed to fulfill the requirements of the recently adopted Railway Safety Management System Regulations, 2015 (SOR/2015-26).

The new Regulations establish the minimum requirements for the Safety Management System that a railway company must develop and implement in order to achieve the highest level of safety in its  operations. The Regulations also require a Safety Management System audit by a third party every three years.

To complete the work, EEM refined a gap analysis methodology and developed audit checklists based on the regulatory requirements.
