Professional development in multi-sector partnership brokering

PARTNERSHIP BROKER'S ACCREDITATION SCHEME (PBAS) LEVEL 1 , JULY 11-16, 2010

Why partner?

With Climate change, poverty, HIV/AIDS, and other enormous challenges to overcome, it is clear that no single sector can deliver the goals of sustainable development alone. Multi-sector partnerships hold the key.
Business, government, community, and academia each have their own special skills and knowledge. When these are harnessed through partnership, our capability to resolve global or local challenges is optimized.

What is a Partnership Broker?
Essential to the successful development and management of multi-sector partnerships is the role of the ‘partnership broker’, whom is an indispensable figure in the partnership building process and a key enabler in transforming dialog into the achievement of common goals.

What is PBAS?
The UK-founded Partnership Brokers Accreditation Scheme (PBAS) is the leading professional skills
training for brokers who need to scope potential partners, reach agreement
among partners with disparate views, and manage or evaluate partnerships. PBAS is managed by The Partnering Initiative (TPI), a Global Programme of the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF), and its Level 1 training is delivered in North America in association with EEM. Nearly 200 people from all sectors and
regions have taken part in the Scheme since its establishment in 2003. The course has recently been restructured to be much more financially
accessible, and the new modular approach allows participants to choose
the most appropriate option for their circumstances.
