Flurry of activity around ISO 14001: 2015

The new edition of the standard came out on September 15th and EEM has been busy digesting the new requirements and developing new tools and approaches.  We’ve already completed gap analyses for both a mining company and a power utility, and undertaken a context review for a third client in the aviation industry (read the case study here). Our team is now ready to share its knowledge in two half-day training courses scheduled in November.  The first is for those new to ISO 14001, while the second focuses on the challenges introduced by the new edition.

Look out for Paul MacLean’s expert article in the next edition of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) members’ magazine. Under the headline Revised ISO 14001 Takes Environmental Management to the Next Level, Paul outlines how the new standard should not be considered a simple update.

To read EEM’s analysis of the principal changes, download our free White Paper published earlier this summer. No material changes were introduced since the publication of the final draft (FDIS) in July.
