EEM worked with a major copper mining and refining operation to devise a system for participatory prioritisation of multi-year community investment spending.
The mandate involved engagement with key stakeholder groups in the community in order to identify and prioritise key issues. Community priorities were then cross-referenced with regional planning objectives and the client's business strategy to arrive at a 3-year community investment plan which was approved by a multi-stakeholder governance committee.
This project provided the client better alignment between community investment priorities and the needs of the community and opened a channel for continuous dialogue with stakeholders for future community investment planning.
