Summary

An organisation specialising in the development of batteries and electrical storage solutions mandated EEM EHS Management Inc. (EEM) to conduct an environmental management system (EMS) gap analysis and an initial environmental review prior to the development and implementation of an EMS compliant to ISO 14001.

Approach and Solution

EEM was mandated to identify how the organisation would meet the requirements of ISO 14001. The analysis was conducted through interviews and a document review. EEM also assisted the organisation in identifying the environmental aspects of its services and activities.

Results

The gap analysis identified the shortcomings of the current system and opportunities for improvement for the organisation. A detailed report with recommendations and actions was provided to the organisation to develop a system meeting the requirements of ISO 14001.
