LEED® existing building operations & maintenance certification assessment

Summary

EEM worked with a major children’s apparel company to assess the compliance of the characteristics of an existing building with LEED-EB O&M prerequisites and credits.

Approach and Solution

The mandate involved a gap analysis aiming at comparing the existing building characteristics in terms of the site itself, energy & water consumption, materials & resources and indoor environmental quality with the LEED-EB O&M prerequisites and credits. The study highlighted multiple necessary measures in order to obtain the LEED EB O&M certification. It also classified these measures by order of priority and feasibility and hence facilitated the decision making process.

Results

The study provided the client with insight into areas which could be improved. The company is currently putting in place the recommended measures in order to get the LEED EB certification.
